Version of Sept. 26, 2026
Most of what reaches our inbox is about a package that isn’t here yet, so the desk wrote this page backwards: the worry first, the checkout last.
I want to follow my package
You’ll get a tracking email inside 24 hours of send-out. It has the carrier’s number and a link.
- Look in the inbox you gave at checkout. Then look in spam.
- Allow up to 1 weekday for the first scan. The carrier scans at its depot, not at the warehouse door.
- Prefer a page to an email? The Order Tracking page takes your order ID and email.
Tracking says delivered, my doorstep says otherwise
Carriers sometimes scan early. Sometimes a whole day early.
- Give it 48 hours after the delivered scan.
- Ask the people you live with, the building office and the two nearest neighbors.
- Still nothing? Email our inbox with the order ID inside 10 days of that scan.
The desk then opens a trace. When the carrier writes the package off as lost, the customer chooses: a fresh copy, or money back for the whole order. Reports after the 10 days are still read, but the carrier’s own claim window may already be shut.
My box came in crushed
Report damage inside 10 days of delivery. Two photos to our inbox do the job: the crushed part, and the shipping label. The damaged copy usually stays with you. A fresh copy or money back, whichever you’d rather, follows the report. The carrier claim is the desk’s job.
Nothing has scanned for a week
A package with no fresh scan for 5 weekdays gets traced. Email the order ID and the desk starts it. A package the carrier can’t find is replaced, or refunded in full, once the carrier says so.
My order went in at 4:50 on a Friday
Order deadline: 4:30 PM ET, weekdays only. Dallas, Georgia keeps Eastern Time, daylight saving included.
Before 4:30 PM ET on a weekday: the order goes on that day’s packing list. After it, or on a weekend or federal holiday: the next weekday’s list. A 4:50 PM Friday order is on Monday’s list.
My order is “processing” and I want to know for how long
Packing: 1-2 weekdays, counted from the day the order is on the list.
The warehouse finds the copy with the ISBN on the order, looks it over and boxes it. Weekdays exclude federal holidays, so a holiday inside the window adds a day.
The carrier has it, so when does it land
Carrier time: 5-6 weekdays from the first scan.
Packing days aren’t in that figure. Rural addresses tend to see the sixth day. Cities near the warehouse sometimes see the fourth.
A date I can plan a gift around
Door to door: 6-8 weekdays from the day the order is on the packing list.
Worked case: a Monday-noon order. Boxed by Wednesday. First scan Wednesday. At the door between the next Wednesday and the next Friday. The listings, the FAQ and the delivery settings the shop files with Google all say 6-8, because two different numbers in two places is how a shop ends up in trouble.
Where the package starts its trip
Inside the United States, in the warehouse of the book distributor the shop partners with. Dallas isn’t on the route. The footer address is an office: mail, records, nothing on shelves, no dock for a package.
Where you’ll deliver
Every one of the 48 states you can drive between, and DC, as long as it’s a street address. House, apartment, office, school, library: all fine.
Where you won’t
Alaska. Hawaii. Puerto Rico and the other territories. Any PO Box. Military mail through APO, FPO or DPO.
The checkout shows no delivery method for those addresses, so it takes no money. Should one get through anyway, the desk cancels it, refunds it in full inside 1 weekday and emails the reason.
What delivery costs me
Books in the cart under $49.00: delivery is $4.90. Books at $49.00 or more: free delivery.
Most single titles on the site sit below $49.00, so a one-book order usually carries the $4.90. Two or three books usually cross the line. The checkout shows the delivery line before payment.
How the $4.90 is decided
- Total the books, after any discount.
- $49.00 or above: the delivery line reads $0.00.
- Below $49.00: the delivery line reads $4.90, whatever the weight or the count.
Tax isn’t in that total. There’s no handling line, fuel line, rural line or insurance line, at checkout or later.
Whether I can pick UPS
The partner assigns USPS or UPS per destination, by address and weight. The checkout has no carrier menu. The desk can’t change the assignment. The tracking email tells you which one took the package.
A tax line appeared
Tax is charged only where the customer’s delivery address requires it. It appears as its own line above the payment button and is inside the checkout total. Where it doesn’t apply, the line doesn’t exist.
A typo in my address
Send the order ID and the right address to our inbox inside 8 hours of ordering. The fix is made before packing. Past 8 hours a label may exist, and a label can’t be edited. A package sent back to the warehouse over a customer’s address typo is refunded for the books when it arrives; the $4.90, where paid, isn’t. Reordering with the right address is the fastest route from there.
The title sold out after I paid
The warehouse updates stock, but a title can go between the last update and your order.
- Inside 1 weekday, the desk emails a restock date.
- Your pick: hold on for that date, switch to a different title at the same price or less, or have every cent returned.
- Silence for 5 weekdays means the full refund goes out on its own.
Two packing days are up and it hasn’t left
If the package can’t go out inside the 1-2 weekdays promised, the desk emails a new date plus the option to cancel for a full refund. That’s the federal mail-order rule at work, the FTC’s, and it binds every seller who ships by post.
Weather on the route
Storms, carrier backlogs and the December rush add days nobody controls. The numbers on this page describe normal weeks. During a delay the desk watches the tracking, and the 5-weekday trace rule above still runs.
How long until a problem is settled
Three weekdays after the first email, at most, the customer knows the outcome. One of three outcomes: a replacement, with fresh tracking; a refund; or word on the trace, with the date of the next step. A carrier trace can run past the third weekday; when it does, the update repeats what the carrier has told the desk so far.
Hidden handling charges
None. The label, the packing and the hand-over to the carrier sit inside the $4.90 or inside free delivery.
Changed my mind about a book
Returns are open for 30 days from the delivery date. The Refund and Returns Policy has the steps. The return address comes with the return number, and it is never the Dallas office.
Where to go from here
Order Tracking to see where a package is. Refund and Returns Policy to send one back. Contact for the form and the company details. Or email contact@ovexik.com, or ring +1 (770) 768-1723 on a weekday between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM ET. Someone who read the message writes back inside one business day.
