Version of Sept. 26, 2026
These are the questions the desk gets most, arranged the way people tend to ask them: before buying, while the package travels, when something’s off, at the payment step, about the books, about the company. Each figure links to the page it lives on.
Before buying
Delivery on one $12.99 paperback isn’t free
Correct: $4.90. Free delivery starts when the books in the cart reach $49.00, usually two or three titles. The checkout shows the delivery line before payment. Shipping Policy
Needed by a birthday next week
Count 6-8 weekdays from the order deadline, 4:30 PM ET on weekdays. A Monday-noon order should land between the following Wednesday and Friday. Weekends and federal holidays don’t count.
Ordering from Alaska, or to a PO Box
Not possible. Deliveries reach the 48 states of the mainland plus DC, and only to a street address. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the territories, PO Boxes and APO, FPO and DPO addresses get no delivery option at checkout, so no payment is taken.
Ordering for a classroom or a library
Welcome, on the same delivery terms. Above 20 copies of a single title, email first so the partner can check stock.
Curious where the package starts
The shop’s distribution partner ships it from its own warehouse, which is on United States soil. The Dallas office named in the footer is paperwork only; no package has ever left it.
While the package travels
A confirmation email, but no tracking email
Packing takes 1-2 weekdays, and the tracking email follows inside 24 hours of send-out, so it can land as late as the third weekday after ordering. Meanwhile the Order Tracking page shows which stage the order is at.
A tracking number with no scans
Up to 1 weekday can pass between send-out and the carrier’s first scan. Five weekdays without a scan and the desk opens a trace.
An address typed wrong
There’s an 8-hour window from ordering: send the order ID and the right address to contact@ovexik.com inside it. After that a label may exist and can’t be changed.
Cancelling after I clicked pay
Inside 8 hours of ordering, by email, full amount back inside 3 weekdays. Later than that the order travels and can come back under the 30-day window.
When something’s off
Delivered on screen, empty porch
Allow 48 hours, ask the household and the neighbors, then email before 10 days from that scan have passed. Filing with the carrier is the desk’s work; once the carrier confirms, the book is replaced or the money returned.
Damaged on arrival
Photograph the damage and the carrier label and send both inside 10 days of delivery. The damaged copy usually stays; a fresh one leaves inside 2 weekdays, or the book is refunded. Refund and Returns Policy
Somebody else’s title in the box
Email inside 10 days. A prepaid label covers the stray book. The correct one goes out inside 2 weekdays, or the order is refunded if the title has run out.
Doesn’t match the listing
A different author, title, publisher, format, page count or ISBN, reported inside the 30 days, goes back on a prepaid label for a full refund. If the ISBN matches, a refreshed cover doesn’t make it a different book.
Sold out after payment
An email comes inside 1 weekday with the restock date and three options: hold on, switch to a title at the same price or less, or have everything back.
Paying
Cards and wallets that work
The card fields take Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover, and there’s a PayPal button beside them. No checks, transfers, cash on delivery, crypto or pay-later plans. Payment Policy
When the card is charged
Once, in full, the instant the order goes through. Cancelling inside 8 hours refunds it inside 3 weekdays.
A tax line at checkout
Only where the delivery address requires it. Listing prices are pre-tax; any tax due for the delivery address appears as a separate line before the pay button.
Waiting for the money to come back
Seven weekdays at most after the warehouse has received and checked the book, back onto the card or PayPal account used. The bank shows it 3-10 days later. Restocking fee: $0.
Postage on a return
When the error is the shop’s, meaning damage, a wrong title or a listing that didn’t match, a prepaid label arrives and the $4.90 delivery fee comes back as well. Customer’s change of heart: the customer covers the postage back and the $4.90 isn’t returned.
About the books on the shelf
New or used
New. Each is the publisher’s trade edition matching the ISBN-13 on its listing. No used, ex-library or remaindered copies.
The age rating on a comic
The publisher’s own, printed as given: Viz’s “T” or “T+”, or an age range from a children’s imprint. It grades content, not reading skill. The thrillers are adult books. Disclaimer
Whether the cover will match
The ISBN is guaranteed to match. Cover art isn’t, because publishers change it between printings and every screen shows color differently. Not a mismatch under the returns rules.
How many titles there are
45, in three sections: Comics & Graphic Novels (13), Cookbooks, Food & Wine (16), Mystery & Thrillers (16). 28 publishers. $8.24 to $29.24.
